Bible Study For Busy People :: Understand Prophecy and the Second Coming Overview Of End Time Events and how to live to tell about it. Click
http://FinalEvents.com/ INTRODUCTION: In this lesson we will study what the Bible says will happen when and after Jesus comes back to this earth. I. Revelation 19:11-16 Second coming of Christ. A. Matthew 25:31-32 1. Millennium begins with the return of Christ to earth. 2. Word "millennium" comes from two Latin words: "mille" = 1,000 and "annus" = a year, thus 1,000 years. 3. Revelation mentions the 1,000-years period six times, in chapter 20: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 II. Events at the beginning of the millennium. A. The return of Christ -- Revelation 19:11 B. Righteous dead raised to life - 1 Thessalonians 4:16 C. Living saved taken to heaven -- 1 Thessalonians 4:17 D. The living wicked slain -- Revelation 19:11-16 E. Rest of dead (wicked) remain dead - Revelation 20: F. Earth is desolate -- Revelation 16:17-21; Revelation 6:14-17; Jeremiah 25:30-33; Jeremiah 4:23-27; Isaiah 24; Jeremiah 4 III. Events during millennium. A. All the saved are in heaven -- Revelation 20:4, 6 1. Revelation 3:21 2. John 14:1-3 B. All wicked remain dead -- Revelation 20:5 -- Jeremiah 25:33 C. Satan bound (alone without any man) -- Revelation 20:3; Jeremiah 4. IV. Events at close of millennium. A. Wicked raised to life -- John 5:28-29 -- Revelation 20:5 B. Holy City descends from heaven -- Revelation 21:2-3 C. Satan loosed out of prison -- Revelation 20:7 D. Wicked surround City -- Revelation 20:9 E. Fire devours all wicked -- Revelation 20:9-15 F. Earth cleansed and restored -- 2 Peter 3:10-13 -- Revelation 21:1,5 Closing Thoughts to Ponder: Whom will you meet at the Millennium? Jesus at the beginning or Satan at the end? Each of us will be alive someplace on the earth at the close of the millennium; either on the earth with the Satan OR inside the beautiful City with the saved and Christ. THE CHOICE IS OURS TO MAKE TODAY. Everyone has the same 24 hour day. One group ends up safe inside the city of God and the other outside. Fire devours all wicked outside of the city.-- Revelation 20:9-15 Your priorities make the difference in which side of that wall you will be on. Warning and Assurance from Jesus Christ upon the Mount of Olives rehearsed the fearful judgments that were to precede His second coming: "Ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: . . . Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows" [Matt. 24:6-8]. While these prophecies received a partial fulfillment at the destruction of Jerusalem, they have a more direct application in the last days.--Testimonies for the Church, vol. 5, p. 753 (1899). Angels are Holding the Winds. The prophet saw "four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree." Another angel, ascending from the east, cried to them, saying, "Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads." This points out the work we now have to do, which is to cry to God for the angels to hold the four winds until missionaries shall be sent to all parts of the world, and shall have proclaimed the warning against disobeying the law of Jehovah.--Review and Herald Extra, Dec. 11, 1888. I asked my accompanying angel the meaning of what I heard, and what the four angels were about to do. He said to me that it was God that restrained the powers, and that He gave His angels charge over things on the earth; that the four angels had power from God to hold the four winds, and that they were about to let them go; but while their hands were loosening, and the four winds were about to blow, the merciful eye of Jesus gazed on the remnant that were not sealed, and He raised His hands to the Father and pleaded with Him that He had spilled His blood for them. Then another angel was commissioned to fly swiftly to the four angels and bid them hold, until the servants of God were sealed with the seal of the living God in their foreheads.--Early Writings, p. 38. My dear brethren and sisters, let the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ be in your minds continually and let them crowd out worldly thoughts and cares. When you lie down and when you rise up, let them be your meditation. Live and act wholly in reference to the coming of the Son of man. The sealing time is very short, and will soon be over. Now is the time, while the four angels are holding the four winds, to make our calling and election sure.--Early Writings, p. 58. Now, just now, we need to be preparing for the Lord's second coming.--Letter 308, 1907 (Last Day Events, p. 23). The nations are in unrest. Times of perplexity are upon us. Men's hearts are failing them for fear of the things that are coming upon the earth. But those who believe in God will hear His voice amid the storm, saying, "It is I; be not afraid."--Signs of the Times, Oct. 9, 1901. Terrible shocks will come upon the earth, and the lordly palaces erected at great expense will certainly become heaps of ruins.--Manuscript Releases, vol. 3, p. 312 (1891). When God's restraining hand is removed, the destroyer begins his work. Then in our cities the greatest calamities will come.--Manuscript Releases, vol. 3, p. 314 (1897). The end is near and every city is to be turned upside down every way. There will be confusion in every city. Everything that can be shaken is to be shaken and we do not know what will come next. The judgments will be according to the wickedness of the people and the light of truth that they have had.--Manuscript Releases, vol. 1, p. 248 (1902). O that God's people had a sense of the impending destruction of thousands of cities, now almost given to idolatry.--Evangelism, p. 29 (1903). The time is near when large cities will be swept away, and all should be warned of these coming judgments.--Evangelism, p. 29 (1910).Bible Locate Ellen White's Writings, Our High Calling, That I May Know Him, Desire of Ages http://egwdatabase.whiteestate.org/nxt/gateway.dll?f=templates$fn=default.htm$vid=defaultMore Ellen White... _________________________________________________________________________ What teachings of the false religious system are not supported in the Bible? 1) Limbo 2) Infant Baptism 3) Worship of Saints 4) Sale if Indulgences 5) Human Priests Forgive Sin ...In the Wednesday, December 12, 1984, Los Angeles Times: "Rebutting a belief widely shared by Protestants and a growing number of Roman Catholics, Pope John II, on Tuesday dismissed the 'widespread idea that one can obtain forgiveness directly from God.' and exhorted Catholics to confess more often to their priests." 6) Purgatory 7) Infallibility of the Pope 8) Worship Virgin Mary 9) Masses for the Dead 10 Sunday Worship Unveiling The Apocalypse, by John Osborn, Page 24, Prophecy Countdown, Inc., P.O. This is not merely an academic question for scholars to debate, but a practical one relevant to many Christians who believe in the validity and value of the principle of seventh-day Sabbath keeping for today. The problem of when to begin and to end the observance of the Sabbath is particularly acute in those parts of the world where it is difficult, if not impossible, to observe the Sabbath according to the sunset reckoning, because in these places the sun rises or sets very early or very late or not at all during certain periods of the year. http://biblelight.net/sunday.htm http://www.AmazingDiscoveries.org/Amazing Discoveries is a front-line evangelistic ministry that uses innovative methods to reach secular people for Christ! D., Chairman, New Testament Department Andrews University Theological Seminary When as Adventists we think about the End, we tend to do so more with the head than with the heart. We find it much easier to discuss current events in general than our own personal hopes and fears. We find it easier to expound on details of prophecy and history than to have a living relationship with God. We find it much easier to speculate on the nature and timing of the events of the End Time than to give people a practical path toward readiness for those events. Talk is cheap. Genuine life change is challenging. What does it really mean to get ready for Jesus' return? How can I get ready in the midst of the rough and tumble busyness of the Information Age? These are questions that we will address briefly in this essay. But before we talk about how to get ready, let me explore some dead ends along the path to readiness. In my experience with Adventist audiences on six continents, I have learned that there are four unhealthy ways that Adventists approach the issue of getting ready for Jesus' return. ***** Endtime Issues Newsletters http://www.biblicalperspectives.com/endtimeissues/ by Dr. Samuele Bacchiocchi Have you ever wished that you could keep abreast with those significant developments in the religious world that have prophetic significance for our Christian life today? The Lord will not excuse those who know the truth if they do not in word and deed obey His commands. If we make no effort to win souls to Christ we shall be held responsible for the work we might have done, but did not do because of our spiritual indolence. Those who belong to the Lord's kingdom must work earnestly for the saving of souls. They must do their part to bind up the law and seal it among the disciples. (Testimonies for the Church Volume Six, page 331, paragraph 2) Ellen White. < Look-up > http://egwdatabase.whiteestate.org/nxt/gateway.dll?f=templates$fn=default.htm$vid=default [Top of Document] One of Ellen White’s unfulfilled predictions relates to future events. Key words that describe the forces that will focus on Seventh-day Adventists are “sifting” and “shaking.” Human beings have been sifted by trials and temptations ever since the Garden of Eden, but Ellen White foresaw a time prior to the close of probation when special circumstances will test and sift every Adventist. The special sifting is often called the “shaking” time. Sometimes she uses the term “shaking” to refer to the process19 by which all church members will be tested; at other times she refers to the profound shaking that will prevail during the Seven Last Plagues.20 Some of the causes of the final shaking within the Adventist Church will be: · Persecution from outside the church.21 · Erroneous doctrines within the church.22 · Prevailing worldliness caused by not having experienced “the love of the truth,” or being “sanctified through obedience to the truth.”23 · Resistance to the “straight testimony called forth by the counsel of the True Witness to the Laodiceans.”24 · Specific rejection of the sanctuary doctrine involving the significance of the pre-advent judgment and the relationship between the cleansed sanctuary and cleansed people.25 · Rejection of the ministry of Ellen White.26 The impact of the shaking on Seventh-day Adventists will be enormous: · Defections among church leaders.27 · Apostasies of ministers who have preached false doctrine.28 · The church will seem about to fall.29 · An impressive number of church members will leave.30 · New converts will take the place of the defectors.31 · Preparation for the crisis involves developing habits of enthusiasm, courage, and loyalty.32 Source/Story: http://www.WhiteEstate.org/books/mol/Chapt47.html

Sabbath Texts to Ponder Pastor Tom Hughes Rev. 14:6, 7 God's final message to mankind is a call to worship the Creator. The language reflects the fourth commandment. Worship is the issue, not legalism. Rev. 4:11 The basis of all worship is the fact that God created us. His Sabbath reflects his creative power and authority over those he made. Eph. 3:9 Since Jesus was the active agent in creation. Revelation's final call to worship the Creator is a call to give honor to Jesus. John 1: 1-3 states he made everything including the Sabbath. Ex. 20:8-11 We worship Him as the Creator by keeping His Sabbath. For in six days he made. Gen. 2:1-3 The Sabbath was set apart at creation. God rested upon the seventh day, blessed the seventh day and hallowed it. Men cannot unbless what God has blessed. Heb. 4: 4-10 God rested the Seventh-day. There remains a Keeping of the Sabbath for the people of God. We are to ender into it by ceasing from our works As God did from His. How did God? By resting on the Seventh day Sabbath, a symbol of our resting in Christ's works and not in our own works. The Sabbath is a symbol of Grace and Salvation. Mk. 2:27, 28 The Sabbath was given to the human race 2300 years before the existence of the Jews as a memorial for all mankind. Jesus said the Sabbath was made for Anthropos the word we get anthropology from, denoting all of mankind. Ezek. 20:12, 20 The Sabbath was established for all mankind as a sign between God and His people. Lk. 4:16 Jesus was a faithful Sabbath keeper. As HIS CUSTOM was he kept the Sabbath. Matt. 24:20 Jesus predicted the Sabbath would be kept in 70 A.D. at the destruction of Jerusalem over 35 years after His death. Never mentioned any diminishing or changing of the day. Acts 13:42-44; 18: 4, 11 Paul both kept the Sabbath himself and met to worship God with the whole city, Jews and Gentiles alike. Paul kept 78 Sabbaths in a row at Corinth. Acts 16:13 In Philippi, Paul met privately with a group of believers in a country setting, since there was no established Christian church. They had a prayer meeting. Rev. 1:10 The Lord still has a special day at the end of the first century. Rev. 1:10 does not clearly reveal which day is the Lord's Day, but Matt. 12:8, Mk. 2:27, 28; Isaiah 58: 13, 14 and Lk. 6:5 do. Matt. 12:8 The Son of Man is Lord also of the Sabbath. If the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath, the Sabbath must be the Lord's Day. These books were written around 30 years after Christ ascended, and yet still consider the Sabbath a sacred day, without mentioning any Countermanding order. Lk.23:54-56; 24:1 This passage lists three days in succession. The day Christ diedthe preparation Friday. The day Jesus rested in the tomb SabbathSaturday. The day Jesus resurrected the first day Sunday. The Sabbath is clearly Saturday, the seventh day of the week. The Women Rested the Sabbath according to the commandment. Luke made it a point of mentioning which day they kept. If the day had been diminished in any way, he would have told us. Heb. 13:8 Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Isa. 66:22, 23 In the new heavens and new earth we shall keep Sabbath each week. God assures us we will meet on the Sabbath and worship him, and everyone knows which day the true Bible Sabbath was when Isaiah wrote this text. It was kept by the Old Testament prophets, Jesus and the apostles, and will be kept in the new earth. Men have always kept it in the New Testament era as well. There is an unbroken golden thread of men who honor God's Commandments throughout recorded history. Here are they that keep the Commandments of God, and have the Faith of Jesus. Amen Commonly Asked Questions Regarding the Bible Sabbath Since Paul declares "Let no one judge you regarding the Bible Sabbath, " Isn't Sabbath-keeping unnecessary (Col. 2:16, 17)? This passage, Col. 2:16, 17 is one of the most misunderstood passages in the Bible. One principle of Bible interpretation is that you do not allow what may be somewhat unclear to keep you from doing what you understand. The Bible is plain on the Sabbath. It was given at creation (Gen. 2:1-3). Jesus observed it (Lk. 4:16). Paul observed it (Acts 13:42-44), and it will be observed in heaven (Isa. 66:22, 23). The Bible mentions two kinds of sabbaths. The seventh-day Sabbath and the yearly sabbaths. The seventh-day Sabbath, instituted at creation and part of the Ten Commandment law, is a weekly reminder of the loving, all-powerful Creator. The yearly Sabbath relates specifically to the history of Israel. Col. 2:16,17 specifically states "Let no one judge you regarding sabbath days which are a shadow of things to come." The seventh-day Sabbath is a memorial of creation not a shadow of something to come. Heb. 10:1 connects the law of shadows with animal sacrifice. Ezek. 45:17 uses the exact same expressions in the exact same order as Col. 2:16,17 and connects it all with the ceremonial systems of feasts and sacrifices (meat offerings, drink offerings, feasts, new moons, and sabbaths to make reconciliation for the house of Israel. Lev. 23:3 discusses the Seventh-day Sabbath. Lev. 23:5-32 discusses the ceremonial sabbaths (passover, verse 5; unleavened bread, verse 6; wave sheaf, verse 10; first fruits, verse 17; trumpets, verse 24; Day of atonement, verses 27-32; tabernacles, verses 34-36). Both the feast of trumpets (verse 24), and the Day of Atonement (verse 32) are specifically called sabbaths. These annual sabbaths were intimately connected to events foreshadowing Christ's death and His Second Coming. They were designed by God to be shadows or pointers to the coming Messiah. Lev. 23:37 uses the language of Col. 2:16,17 to describe these ceremonial sabbaths. Lev. 23:38 distinguishes the ceremonial sabbaths from the seventh-day Sabbaths by using the expression "Beside the sabbaths of the Lord." Since Christ has come, the shadowy sabbaths of the ceremonial law have found their fulfillment in Him. The seventh-day Sabbath continues to lead us back to the Creator God who made us. God's people will keep it as a distinguishing sign of their relationship to Him (Rev. 14:12, Ezek. 20:12,20). What about Rom. 14:5? "One man esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind." Really, what difference does a day make? Sometimes it's helpful to carefully notice what a Bible text does not say as well as what it does say. Verses 5 and 6 say nothing about either worship or the Sabbath. They simply talk about regarding a day. To say this particular day is the Sabbath is an unwarranted assumption. Rom. 14:1 sets the tone for the entire passage indicating that the discussion focuses on "doubtful disputations" or disputes on doubtful matters. Is the seventh-day Sabbath set apart by God at creation (Gen. 2:1-3) placed within the heart of the moral law (Ex. 20:8-11) a doubtful matter? Certainly not! There is no indication anywhere in scripture that the weekly Sabbath was ever questioned by Jesus or the Apostles. Had they done so, the controversy it generated would have been instant and hotly contested. The key to our passage is found in verse 6 which states, "He that regards the day regards it unto the Lord, and he that regardeth not the day regards it not to the Lord. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord for He giveth God thanks, and he that eateth not to the Lord, he eateth not for he giveth God thanks." The issue revolved around fast days not Sabbath days. Some Jewish Christians believed there was particular merit in fasting on certain days. They judged others by their own standards. The Pharisees fasted at least twice a week and boasted about it (Lk. 18:12). In Rom. 14, Paul is pointing out that to fast or not to fast on a certain day is a matter of individual conscience, not a matter of God's command. Didn't the disciples meet on the first day of the week? Acts 20:7 The reason this meeting is mentioned in the narrative is because Paul was leaving the next day and worked a mighty miracle in raising Eutychus from the dead. It is clear that the meeting is a night meeting. It is the dark part of the first day of the week (Acts 20:7). In Bible times, the dark part of the day preceded the light part (Gen. 1:5). The Sabbath was observed from Friday night at sunset to Saturday night at sunset. (Leu. 23:32, Mk. 1:32). If this meeting is on the dark part of the first day of the week, it is in fact a Saturday night meeting. Paul has met with the believers all Sabbath. He will depart the next day, Sunday, so the meeting continues late into Saturday night. The next day, Sunday, Paul travels by foot to Assos, then sailed to Mitylene. The New English Bible reading of Acts 20:7 also confirms this as a Saturday night meeting, with Paul traveling on Sunday. If Paul considered Sunday sacred in honor of the resurrection, why would he spend the entire day traveling and not worshipping? The record indicates that Paul was a Sabbath keeper (see Acts 13:42-44; 17:2; 16:12, 13; 18:4). First day of the week. In Greek the expression is the same as that in Matt. 28:1 There can be no doubt that this corresponds, in general, at least, to our Sunday. Commentators have been divided, however, as to whether the meeting in question took place on the evening following Sunday, or on that preceding it. Those who favor the view that it was a Sunday night meeting point out that Luke, who most probably was a Gentile, presumably used Roman time reckoning, which began the day at midnight. On such reckoning, an evening meeting on the first day of the week could only be on Sunday night. They point out also that the time sequence of the verse, the first day of the week, the morrow, implies that Paul's departure took place on the second day of the week; if so, then the meeting must have been on Sunday night. It may be noted, also, that John refers to Sunday night as the first day of the week (John 20:19), whereas, according to Jewish reckoning, it was already the second day of the week It is possible that Luke uses the expression in the same sense here. Other commentators, including Ellicott, Conybeare and Howson, and A. T. Robertson, have preferred to understand that the meeting took place on the evening before Sunday. Inasmuch as Jewish reckoning began the day at sunset, by that system the dark part of the first day of the week would be the night preceding Sunday, our Saturday night. Such reckoning continued for centuries among Christians, and it is reasonable to think that Luke, whether Gentile or not, may have used it in his narrative. Accordingly, Paul's meeting at Troas would have begun after sunset on Saturday night, and would have continued through that night. The next day, Sunday, he would have walked to Assos. Some writers have seen in this passage an indication of early Christian Sunday observance. Whether or not Luke used Jewish or Roman time reckoning is of relatively little importance to this question, for he says clearly that the meeting was on the first day of the week. If he was using Jewish reckoning, then the evening before Sunday was considered the first day, and if he was using Roman time, the evening following Sunday was still the first day. The significant factor here, as regards the question of early Christian Sundaykeeping, is whether this first-day meeting represents regular Christian practice, or whether it happened to fall on the first day only because of Paul's visit. A consideration of the whole narrative provides no support for the view that Paul held this meeting specifically because it was the first day of the week. He had been at Troas seven days; certainly he must have met with the believers there already more than once. Now he was to depart, and it was most logical that he would hold a final farewell meeting, and celebrate the Lord's Supper with them. Lukes remark that this occurred on the first day of the week, rather than being a notice of specific Sunday keeping, is quite in harmony with the whole series of chronological notes with which he fills his narrative of this voyage (see chs. 20:3, 6, 7, 15, 16; 21:1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 15). Therefore the simplest way to view this passage would seem to be that the meeting was held, not because it was Sunday, but because Paul was ready to depart (ch. 20:7), that Luke includes an account of the meeting because of the experience of Eutychus, and that his note that it was "the first day of the week" is merely a part of his continuing chronological record of Paul's journey. In evaluating this passage as an evidence of early Christian Sunday keeping, the eminent church historian, Augustus Neander, remarks: The passage is not entirely convincing, because the impending departure of the apostle may have united the little Church in a brotherly parting-meal, on occasion of which the apostle delivered his last address, although there was no particular celebration of a Sunday in the case (The History of the Christian Religion and Church, tr. Henry John Rose, vol. 1, p. 337). In any case, a regular Sunday worship service is not indicated in the text, and no compelling case can be made for even the Communion Service because they usually broke bread when they met on a daily basis. Also, if a Saturday meeting, or Sunday night Communion hardly would be justification for a regular Sunday morning service. Communion did not take place on Sunday using either time reckoning since it was Saturday night or Monday morning. Also, the word translated here as preaching is not a good translation of the word Preached. Gr. dialegomai, to converse, to discuss. In all instances in the NT, except here and in v. 9, this verb is translated to dispute, to reason, and once to speak. Here and in v. 9 it would be better translated to discourse. The meeting was evidently not a regular church assembly with a sermon, but an informal one in which reasoning and conversation were used to answer questions and clear away difficulties among the Christians at Troas, and to impart instruction. Rather than this being some kind of preaching service where communion was regularly dispensed, it was a going away get together where church matters were discussed into the wee hours of the night. There no reason to discontinue obeying the Ten Commandments because Paul had a going away party held in his honor! Can we really tell which day the Seventh-day is? There are at least four ways which we can tell for certain that Saturday is the Seventh-day: 1.
The Bible clearly reveals that Jesus was crucified on the preparation day. (Lk. 23:54), His closest followers rested as commanded the Sabbath day (Lk. 24:55, 56) and Jesus rose from the dead the first day (Lk. 24: Mk. 16:9) Most Christians recognize Jesus died on Friday the preparation day, He rested the next day and rose the first day-Sunday. The Sabbath is the day between Friday and Sunday or the seventh-day-Saturday.2. Language: In over 140 languages in the world, the word for the Seventh-day which we call Saturday is the word "Sabbath." Language testifies to the Sabbath's preservation through the centuries. 3. Astronomy: The leading astronomers in the world testily to the fact that the weekly cycle has never changed. Centers like the Royal Naval Observatory in the U.S. and The Royal Greenwich Observatory in England affirm the fact of a constant weekly cycle. 4. History: The Jewish people have kept an accurate record of the Sabbath through the centuries. For over 4,000 years, they have preserved the true Sabbath on Saturday. I keep Sunday in honor of the resurrection. What's wrong with that? Didn't Jesus rise from the dead on Sunday? Yes, Jesus certainly rose on Sunday! But He never commanded us to worship in honor of the resurrection. Just as the communion service symbolizes His death (1 Cor. 11:24, 26) baptism symbolizes His resurrection (Rom. 6:1-6). The symbol of Jesus' resurrection is not worship 0n the day of the sun adopted into Christianity, from pagan Rome's sun worship, but a beautiful ceremony of baptism as a symbol of a new life transformed by the wonder working power of the Holy Spirit. In the watery grave of baptism, the old person symbolically dies and is buried while a new life is resurrected with Christ. Isn't one day in seven good enough? Why do you put so much emphasis on the Sabbath? The issue is more than a matter of days. It is a matter of masters. Through a master stroke of deception, Satan has worked through apostate religion to change God's law (Dan. 7:25). He has cast the truth to the ground (Dan. 8:12). He has made a break in God's wall of truth. God calls us to repair the breach by keeping His Sabbath (Isa. 58:12, 13). We ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29). To worship on the seventh day is to accept the authority of our creator Lord, who commanded the day be kept (Ex. 20:8-11). To knowingly accept a counterfeit day of worship is to accept an institution initiated and established solely by man in the apostasy. The real question is, then, whose servants are we God's or man's? (Rom. 6:16). All the celebrations the day before or the day after my birthday do not make these days my birthday. The world's birthday is the Bible Sabbath, the Seventh Day. It is a memorial to our loving Creator. No other day will do. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Learn God's plan for happiness - Two Promises Psalm 119:1

2) Scripture References to Book of Remembrance All of your good works are recorded in this book. The Book of Remembrance Malachi 3 16Then those who feared the Lord talked often one to another; and the Lord listened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who reverenced and worshipfully feared the Lord and who thought on His name. 17And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure). And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him. 18Then shall you return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who does not serve Him. 3) Book of Iniquity - Not directly named in scripture All of your evil deeds of omission and commission are recorded in this book. Example is of a sin by omission is not actively fulfilling the Great Commission as recorded in Mark 16:15 and Matthew 28:18-20. The angels record our lives -- even the secret things. Conclusion Ezekiel Chapter 18 Especially verses 19-28 in BibleGateway.com Paraphrased... Verse 22 - If the wicked man turns from his sins, none of his/her transgressions will be remembered. Verse 24 - If the righteous person turns and does evil, none of the good deeds will be remembered. Your evil deeds (Book of Iniquity) will be erased if you are acceptable to Jesus and live your life by relying on Jesus' righteousness. Your good deeds (Book of Remembrance) will be erased if you not accepted by Jesus by actively or just passively sinning by not fulfilling the Great Commission, for example. Thus: Life or Death decision. Confused? Return for more insights. This chapter summarizes decision making You can't sit on the fence. Your daily choices determine your fate! Learn how to make better decisions! Jesus will help you to make good choices with your personal Life Tutor, the Holy Spirit. An example of decision making (Rev. 19:20) Those who actively or passively permit things to happen... "...accepted (or permitted) to be placed upon them the stamp (mark) of the beast and those who paid homage and gave divine honors to his statue. Both of them were hurled alive into the fiery lake and blazes with brimstone." [Note: Active and passive decisions are treated the same by God.] "Whatever" decisions are decisions - even minor ones: Doing your homework instead of something else. Avoiding people who do stupid things for "fun" like drinking, smoking and doing illegal drugs. "Even a child is known by his acts, whether [or not] what he does is pure and right." Prov. 20:11 You'll probably have fewer or no friends for awhile - but that's OK. You could visit them in jail along with your pastor. A passive decision is a decision. Not making a decision is a decision. Example. Decisions God doesn't like. Malachi 3:5 "...I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against false swearers and against those who oppress the hirelings in his wages, the widow and the fatherless, and who turn aside the temporary resident from his right and fear not Me, says the Lord of hosts. The Amplified Bible Have you ever got the "best deal" from someone by passively robbing him/her on a low bid for a contract job or as an employee? -- knowing full-well that you could pay him/her a living wage? Consider yourself a passive thief. In other words-a thief. God only balances the books at the resurrection - that is after you die. Life or Death. Any questions? Galatians 5:14-26 14For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is complied with in the one precept, You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself. 15But if you bite and devour one another [in partisan strife], be careful that you [and your whole fellowship] are not consumed by one another. 16But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). 17For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do.
18But if you are guided (led) by the [Holy] Spirit, you are not subject to the Law. 19Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency, 20Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies), 21Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, 23Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge]. 24And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires. 25If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.] 26Let us not become vainglorio us and self-conceited, competitive and challenging and provoking and irritating to one another, envying and being jealous of one another. The Amplified Bible
Note: Good decisions put you in situations that make even better decisions easier. The learning curve on how to make better and better decisions goes up when you eliminate more and more bad choices/decisions and you choose more and more good choices/decisions. Its a process that takes wisdom and help from God. We are saved from destruction in hell fire by God's grace. We will never be perfect like Jesus is, but we are expected - by His help - to be more like Him by miracles He will do for us. It is a team effort. God's part and our part. A passive decision is a decision. Example. Passively not spending time with God by not: attending church, personal bible study, keeping the sabbath is -- telling God you don't care about Him and later He could say to you "I don't know you." Depart from me - forever - in the second death. People have always been to "busy" for God even before the industrial revolution: manufacturing plants, automation, automobiles, telephones, computers, etc.. This "really busy" thing is not new. Luke 14:16-24 explains it. The busy people in Luke 14:16-24 had interests in real estate, farming and one was married. What else is there besides owning property, earning a living and being married? Read Hebrews 1:1-40 about examples of what faith can do. Raise the dead, birth of baby, protection of a baby, winning a war are some examples. What else do you need to know that God will take care of your own lives and problems?
But unfortunately man - for the most part - has chosen another way the way described
in Genesis 6

Genesis 6
3Then the Lord said, My Spirit shall not forever dwell and
strive with man, for he also is flesh; but his days shall yet
be 120 years.
4There were giants on the earth in those days--and also
afterward--when the sons of God lived with the daughters of men,
and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who
were of old, men of renown.
5The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,
and that every imagination and intention of all human thinking was
only evil continually.
John 1:1-9
3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made
that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the
light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the
darkness has not understood it.
6There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John.
7He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that
through him all men might believe. 8He himself was not the light;
he came only as a witness to the light. 9The true light that
gives light to every man was coming into the world.
10He was in the world, and though the world was made through
him, the world did not recognize him.
Conclusions
1 We are supposed to live like Gal 5:22-23 not Galatians 5:19-21
2) God's Spirit prompts everyone to live correctly. John 1:1-9
Gen 6:3 states that God's Spirit will not try forever to
change us.
3) Man in general chooses to live Gen 6:5
John 1:10 The world in general doesn't understand how to live
Godly lives because they don't have a personal relationship with
Him by spending time with God in personal prayer and bible study
and many ignore the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
The “Light” referred to in John 1:1-9 is Jesus.
Jesus came into the world as the light.
4) What are your values? For example -- What kind of entertainment
do you like?
Gal 5:22-23 or Gal 5:19-21.
We gradually become like the behavior we choose and are exposed to.
Ask God for wisdom especially for situations we have little or no
control of like behavior of family, coworkers, etc.
Pray for wisdom and favor from God for these situations. How do you look at the daily news? We all have to manage change or it will manager us! This page is dedicated to understand and managing change in our world for ourselves and our children, including its effects on life, family, career, career path, and eternal life! One way to understanding change lies in is understanding artificial intelligence (AI) computers and jobs. Have you ever wondered how a company can lay off 10,000 employees at a time? Where did all of the jobs go? Learn how colleges and universities are teaching now. Click on University of the West of England to discover how one college teaches this new job skill. One website describes Hybrid Fuzzy-Neural Expert Artificial Intelligence computer system research to help your medical doctor diagnose. Click here for details. Consider how Rochester Institute of Technology is teaching manufacturing techniques. They teach C.I.M. or Computer Integrated Manufacturing. Taken to its ultimate, C.I.M. will replace almost all workers. This is the technology that allows corporations to lay off thousands at a time. Check out the companies that use it and how college students are replacing you. The idea in this article is to inform you and give you ideas on how to cope with and how to use this technology to your advantage! The bigger issue is which "corporation" will be the last one standing? (I mean the Kingdom of God.)Where should you invest? What should you invest in? Isaiah 2 19Then shall [the stricken, deprived of all in which they had trusted] go into the caves of the rocks and into the holes of the earth from before the terror and dread of the Lord and from before the glory of His majesty, when He arises to shake mightily and terribly the earth. 20In that day men shall cast away to the moles and to the bats their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made for themselves to worship, 21To go into the caverns of the rocks and into the clefts of the ragged rocks from before the terror and dread of the Lord and from before the glory of His majesty, when He rises to shake mightily and terribly the earth.
Cross-reference Luke 23:30 1 Corinthians 13 8Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy ( the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth]. The Amplified Bible We should all improve ourselves as best we can. This includes college education on earning a living in this world, but the overview must be a spiritual focus on eternal life! Jesus has the competitive advantage over technology. God has a way of taking care of ALL of His people. But Seek First His Kingdom and His Righteousness, and All These Things Will Be Given To You As Well. Matthew 6:33 NIV

[If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.] 26Let us not become vainglorious and self-conceited, competitive and challenging and provoking and irritating to one another, envying and being jealous of one another. The Amplified Bible Note: Good decisions put you in situations that make even better decisions
easier. But unfortunately man - for the most part - has chosen another way the way

Elridge Page 92 "The writing is on the wall" is a common saying. Where did it come from?Daniel 5 The Message Bible Source: BibleGateway.comThe Writing of a Disembodied Hand 1-4 King Belshazzar held a great feast for his one thousand nobles. The wine flowed freely. Belshazzar, heady with the wine, ordered that the gold and silver chalices his father Nebuchadnezzar had stolen from God's Temple of Jerusalem be brought in so that he and his nobles, his wives and concubines, could drink from them. When the gold and silver chalices were brought in, the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines, drank wine from them. They drank the wine and drunkenly praised their gods made of gold and silver, bronze and iron, wood and stone. 5-7 At that very moment, the fingers of a human hand appeared and began writing on the lamp-illumined, whitewashed wall of the palace. When the king saw the disembodied hand writing away, he went white as a ghost, scared out of his wits. His legs went limp and his knees knocked. He yelled out for the enchanters, the fortunetellers, and the diviners to come. He told these Babylonian magi, "Anyone who can read this writing on the wall and tell me what it means will be famous and rich—purple robe, the great gold chain—and be third-in-command in the kingdom." 8-9 One after the other they tried, but could make no sense of it. They could neither read what was written nor interpret it to the king. So now the king was really frightened. All the blood drained from his face. The nobles were in a panic. 10-12 The queen heard of the hysteria among the king and his nobles and came to the banquet hall. She said, "Long live the king! Don't be upset. Don't sit around looking like ghosts. There is a man in your kingdom who is full of the divine Holy Spirit. During your father's time he was well known for his intellectual brilliance and spiritual wisdom. He was so good that your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, made him the head of all the magicians, enchanters, fortunetellers, and diviners. There was no one quite like him. He could do anything—interpret dreams, solve mysteries, explain puzzles. His name is Daniel, but he was renamed Belteshazzar by the king. Have Daniel called in. He'll tell you what is going on here." 13-16 So Daniel was called in. The king asked him, "Are you the Daniel who was one of the Jewish exiles my father brought here from Judah? I've heard about you—that you're full of the Holy Spirit, that you've got a brilliant mind, that you are incredibly wise. The wise men and enchanters were brought in here to read this writing on the wall and interpret it for me. They couldn't figure it out—not a word, not a syllable. But I've heard that you interpret dreams and solve mysteries. So—if you can read the writing and interpret it for me, you'll be rich and famous—a purple robe, the great gold chain around your neck—and third-in-command in the kingdom." 17 Daniel answered the king, "You can keep your gifts, or give them to someone else. But I will read the writing for the king and tell him what it means. 18-21 "Listen, O king! The High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar a great kingdom and a glorious reputation. Because God made him so famous, people from everywhere, whatever their race, color, and creed, were totally intimidated by him. He killed or spared people on whim. He promoted or humiliated people capriciously. He developed a big head and a hard spirit. Then God knocked him off his high horse and stripped him of his fame. He was thrown out of human company, lost his mind, and lived like a wild animal. He ate grass like an ox and was soaked by heaven's dew until he learned his lesson: that the High God rules human kingdoms and puts anyone he wants in charge. 22-23 "You are his son and have known all this, yet you're as arrogant as he ever was. Look at you, setting yourself up in competition against the Master of heaven! You had the sacred chalices from his Temple brought into your drunken party so that you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines, could drink from them. You used the sacred chalices to toast your gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone—blind, deaf, and imbecile gods. But you treat with contempt the living God who holds your entire life from birth to death in his hand. 24-26 "God sent the hand that wrote on the wall, and this is what is written: mene, teqel, and peres. This is what the words mean: "Mene: God has numbered the days of your rule and they don't add up. 27 "Teqel: You have been weighed on the scales and you don't weigh much. 28 "Peres: Your kingdom has been divided up and handed over to the Medes and Persians." 29 Belshazzar did what he had promised. He robed Daniel in purple, draped the great gold chain around his neck, and promoted him to third-in-charge in the kingdom. 30-31 That same night the Babylonian king Belshazzar was murdered. Darius the Mede was sixty-two years old when he succeeded him as king. | | | | | | Copyright © 2004-2008 BIBLE ANSWERS :: For Busy People! All Rights Reserved.
