It's all about words. Words are tools. Every New Word Is A New Reality.

Just-in-Time Education

Consider that since 1950, the sum of all human knowledge has doubled.

By the year 2020, that doubling will occur every 73 days.

Just-in-Time education teaches us what we need, when we need it.

Interestingly, it's the educational translation of the concept of "Just-in-Time Manufacturing" which has brought new levels of efficiency to the economy.

The analogy: Why warehouse useless information in our brains?

The downside of this - everything in life isn't about immediate application of learning. There is value in accumulated wisdom, and the most inspired problem solving comes from the application of ideas that may not be and usually aren't immediately related to the task at hand.

Sir Thomas Elyot compiled a "dictionary of new and useful words in English for the benefit of [his] countrymen." His contributions include: "involve," "exactly", "articulate," "clemency," "democracy," "education," "loyalty," "society," and "mediocrity."

Shakespeare... was responsible for thousand of words including "critic," "majestic," "laughable," "courtship," "negotiate," "leapfrog," and "lonely."

"In hundreds of classrooms it is being taught daily that the Decalogue (The 10 Commandments) is no more sacred than a syllabus; that the home intuition is doomed; that there are no absolute evils; that immorality is simply an act in contravention of the revolutionary and sensational teachings submitted with an academic warrant to the minds of hundreds of thousands of students in the United States." Cosmopolitan Magazine, May, 1909, by Mr. Harold Bolce.,

What is taught in schools: "The infidelity of the present age, under the seductive names of "science," "higher criticism," "evolution," and "modern liberalism," has permeated most of the theological colleges of the land, and to a large extent has made serious incursions into the Protestant churches"

"The result of modern liberalism has been all too apparent in the work of the Protestant churches. Writers in the various communions have freely pointed out the lack of interest in the preaching of the gospel and the decline of missions in particular. One writer states the situation in this way: "Too largely I suspect our churches have become weak, uncertain of their purpose, lifeless, characterized by a deadly respectability and lacking a sense of mission. The average congregation is primarily concerned with raising enough money to pay the pastor and to keep the property in good repair. There is little a deep-seated conviction any longer that 'we have a story to tell to the nations.' The gospel of salvation and evangelism as respects the whole world has been diluted into a satisfactory and responsible ethic and the church is a society of good people who want the blessings of religion to attend them during their moments of exaltation or grief, but are quite absent themselves from the church and its divine mission so long as they can clothe themselves in the aura of respectability which attaches to church membership. Is this too caustic an indictment of the church.

...Missionary boards may persuade themselves that the falling off in their receipts is due to higher taxes and lowered incomes, but pastors who are in touch with donors recognize a definite resistance to making donations destined for extension of the gospel beyond our borders.

But there is a redeeming feature in this picture. Degenerate as Babylon has become as a body, there are exceptions to the general rule; for God has still a people there, and she (the church) must be entitled to some regard on their account until all who will answer are called for her communion.

The Lord Confounding Their Languages, Genesis 11:9

Genesis 11:1-9  "God Turned Their Language into 'Babble"  The Message Bible

1-2 At one time, the whole Earth spoke the same language. It so happened that as they moved out of the east, they came upon a plain in the land of Shinar and settled down.

3 They said to one another, "Come, let's make bricks and fire them well." They used brick for stone and tar for mortar.

4 Then they said, "Come, let's build ourselves a city and a tower that reaches Heaven.

Let's make ourselves famous so we won't be scattered here and there across the Earth."

5 God came down to look over the city and the tower those people had built.

6-9 God took one look and said, "One people, one language; why, this is only a first step. No telling what they'll come up with next—they'll stop at nothing! Come, we'll go down and garble their speech so they won't understand each other." Then God scattered them from there all over the world. And they had to quit building the city. That's how it came to be called Babel, because there God turned their language into "babble." From there God scattered them all over the world.
